We would like to celebrate the hard work of our College Cohort class of 2024. This year's cohort consisted of 11 high school seniors from 5 Brownsville public schools with majors in Engineering, Psychology, Business, Art, Biology, and many more! Here are some of the schools who said yes to our brilliant scholars!
How we hope to make Progress!
RioProgress started off in 2023 to help high school seniors from a local public school in Brownsville. The students realized they were treading in uncharted territory. It was harder to find the resources for applying to college and scholarships. So our founder and the students decided that we would all work together, uplifting and helping each other through the strenuous process of applying to college. Now, we climb together in all areas college, careers, and more.
We learned a lesson that year: No matter how disorienting the storm may be or the challenges in our path, we can reach greater heights and go farther as long as we work hand in hand. We learned that together, we can build a better future for ourselves, our families, and our communities.
Our Mission
Our goal is to help young people of the Rio Grande Valley figure out what they want to do after high school, apply themselves to the pursuit, and provide them the tools to ensure it is a financially smart decision and a smooth transition. In other words, we want to help young people find their path and run with it.
