What a Donation Goes to:

A donation to RioProgress helps us do a variety of things to better our community, our students. Here is a breakdown of some of the ways we use donated funds:

Resources 📋

Meeting space for our College Cohort weekly sessions.
Reimbursing travel for college visitors looking to recruit top RGV talent.
SAT & ACT Testing E-Books & Practice Exams

Student Need 🎁

Testing Fund - to offer students with hardship an extra shot at a key entrance exam or AP test.
College Visit Fund - to enable students to see campuses before signing.
Technology Fund - to help students who do not have a device suitable for applying to college, or necessary software to aid students in showing competency (e.g. Solidworks & Sibelius)
Parent Fund - to help parents be in attendance at college visits, parent days, graduations, and more.
Credit Fund - to help students obtain credits not currently available in their local school as requirements for college (e.g. AP Calculus)

Staff & Volunteers 👷🏾‍♀️

Compensating cohort staff (non-board members) for services to help RioProgress (legal-fees, accountant, payroll).
Funding an Internship Program where cohort alumni are able to mentor and tutor currently enrolled cohort students.
Reimbursing volunteers for costs incurred while supporting RP programs (e.g. gas, t-shirt).

Operations & IT💻

Google Workspace for our Google Classrooms, Email, and Drive storage for our curriculum and student materials.
Monday.com as our student management system, task management, and resource database.
RioProgress.com to communicate our vision and mission, teach people about our programs, as well to celebrate our students who succeed.
Mailgun to facilitate newsletters, announcements, and subscriber sign ups.
Cognito Forms to collect sensitive information through a secure portal.
Make.com to cleanly integrate between our entire stack.
Financial Accounting software.
